Coronet Obolensky is one of the hottest up and coming young show jumping stallions in the world. At only 7 years of age he had already reached international competition. The highly elastic motion and superb uphill gallop are well combined with jumping qualities that are hard to equal in respect to capacity, leg technique and manner of jumping. This special predisposition is clearly predetermined by his first class pedigree.

His sire Clinton, son of the international show jumping icon Corrado I (Franke Sloothaak), himself a highly successful international show jumper, not only combines the premium national stallions Cor de la Bryère, Landgraf I and Capitol in his pedigree but furthermore derives from Holstein bloodline 8829.

Cornet ObolenskyThe damsire, Heartbreaker, who was victorious in World Cup events, is a son of the probably most prominent Dutch sire of show jumpers of the past 20 years, namely, Nimmerdor. The grandam, a successful advanced class show jumper, produced the victorious international competition sports horse Querido (by Feinschnitt I). Her sire Randel Z, a son of Thieß Luther's successful international competition sports mare Alarie Z, inter alia, brought forth the international dressage horse Nector (Ingrid Klimke).

Cornet Obolensky was declared vice-champion and the darling of the public at the main Northern Westphalian approval of 2001. He absolved an exceedingly good 30 day test with an overall score of 8.33, as third of his test lot, leading the field in show jumping with the score of 9.24. He was moreover awarded the top score of 10 for loose jumping.

He was presented successfully in show jumper competitions beginning in 2003, under Ludger Beerbaum and Marco Kutscher. Under Marco Kutscher, Cornet Obolensky effortlessly qualified for the Bundeschampionat as a five year old, thus fulfilling performance requirements for young stallions.After a year of only breeding when he was six, he took front places in the international Youngster Tour in Arezzo Italy, Lyon France, Aselage-Gut Einhaus and Hachenburg when he was seven.

At the beginning of 2007 he was successful in competitions in Mechelen BEL and Münster. Cornet Obolensky is described by his team as friendly, unflappable and uncomplicated in daily handling however the same cannot always be said when under saddle often displaying a will and mind of his own. Nontheless when he is on form and focused his ability to perform is breathtaking. At the young age of only Eight Cornet participated in the Bejing Olympics 2008 placing fifth in the German Teams

Cornet Obolensky's FoalFrom his first crop of foals he has already produced a number of expensive, elite foals for the 25th and 26th Northern Westphalian elite auctions. Beautiful types with exquisite faces with well proportioned and harmonious conformation, they have consitantly caused sensation with the public. Particularly impressive were the decidedly spirited, uphill moving motions during the trot. Cornet Obolensky was the sire of the champion colt at the 2004 German Foal Championships in Lienen.

In 2006 a Cornet Obolensky son won silver in the For Pleasure ring with the best jumper foals in Lienen and a daughter became the 2nd Reserve Champion among the fillies. (Photo Westphalen Auction 2006)


Cornet PrinzCornet Obolensky has already sired a number of impressive approved sons, standing at the most prestigous of studs. In 2005 brought us the Cornet son Cristallo (Cassini x Polydor) champion of the Westphalian licensing, Stall Klatte breeder and owner of Argentinus stands the young "Cornets Prinz, (Almox Prinz x Polydor x Grannus) and Paul Schokemohle the young Cornet Stern (Pilot x Goldstern) The bay Coronas (by Cornet Obolensky x Calypso x Valiant) was named the champion of the 2007 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster-Handorf on November 28, 2007. Bred by Angelika Rutten and owned by Hendrik Snoek, this stallion was the best jumper and impressed equally in his basic gaits at the annual grading of Westfalian stallions. In Munster a delightful, superbly jumping dapple grey colt by Cornet Obolensky x Acobat x Cantus became Champion of the 2005 Westfalian Stallion Licensing, out classing his dressage bred competitors, this young stallion was not only a class act jumper, but he also moved exceptionally well despite his jumper genes. In 2008 the stallion Comme Il Faut was presented at the Westphalian licensing, out of the infamous Olympic "Ratina Z (Ramiro Z x Almez Z) he passed his 70 day test with the highest jumping index of of 140.25, Cornet already now has over 30 approved sons.
